Kim Nichols of Whole Person Counseling. Licensed Professional Counselor

Kim Nichols, MA, LPC, RYT is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has developed a powerful process, whole person counseling, for healing and transformation by integrating over 30 years of experience with counseling, psychotherapy, body-energy/mindfulness, intuitive science and trauma studies.

A believer in the power of knowledge to lead to greater personal and professional awareness and compassion, Kim studied energy medicine and intuitive science extensively in 1995 with pioneers in the field, Caroline Myss, PhD. And C. Norm Shealy, MD, PhD founder of the American Holistic Medical Association. In conjunction with her continuing education in the counseling field, Kim has studied the expanding of mindfulness, energy work (Healing Touch and Reiki) and became a yoga instructor in 2009.

In the 2017-2018 academic year Kim earned a certificate in Trauma Stress Studies from The Trauma Center at JRI. The cutting edge research focused on evidence based treatments in attachment theory, neuroscience and body energy therapies. Naturally, Kim has integrated these evidence based treatments into the whole person counseling process for clients dealing with mental health issues from trauma and PTSD.

In 1997 Kim relocated to Colorado with her husband and two sons. In order to support and nurture her sons' education she aligned her personal and professional efforts in the holistic education field and co-founded a secondary school in the Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound model. Kim's passion in life is to encourage people to live life authentically. Through ongoing personal journeying and professional service, Kim embraces the interplay of mind, body and spirit and has come to understand that life's difficulties are the doorways to personal empowerment and compassion.

Kim holds an MA in counseling from University of Cincinnati, a BA in Psychology from Miami University and was licensed by the counselor/social work board of Ohio from 1989-1997, and of Colorado from 1997 to present. She maintains a whole person counseling practice and consulting business in Fort Collins, CO.
